Grandmother's hands

At 92, grandmother is still alive, but struggling to go on. I remember about a year ago she already told me in one of her lucid moments "It's tiring to be an old person".

This lady who many times was my babysitter, who had me as her sous chef thought me how to jump the rope

The hands that also nurtured me.

Once I fall down the stairs while playing with my brother, she had to rescue me. Later I found she was frightened thinking I was not going to react. Another occasion she warned me about plants and that I couldn't just chew any leaf. Little revel I was, I had to try a real horrible leaf to find out on my own. I guess I screamed or cried so much that grandma rubbed my tongue with oil. I have plenty of anecdotes with her.

Now she is fragile and her size has decreased to the point she is smaller than I am. This woman who seemed like a hill to me when I was a child...is now fading away. I'm not sure how much more she will last, but I'm fighting for the salvation of her soul, asking Holy Mother Mary to shelter her and lead her soul to the most Sacred Heart of Jesus. After all, she is now a Catholic and a child of the Father.

The times I've prayed in Latin next to her ear, it's like she understands, despite the pain.

May Our Lord take all her suffering as PENITENCE for the sins in her life.

Deo gratias for using me as her little tool to fight for her soul. 5 years ago, I was not really sure what was God's Will for me returning to Bolivia, but now I can only be thankful for this little mission He gave, one that is very precious to achieve. I'm not worthy, but thank you for allowing me to help.

May grandma soon rests in peace, and may she finds Your Justice and Mercy.
